Current Projects
The support
of many of the current projects being worked on by the Downtown Ridgefield
group are the direct result of both its members and other public and private
entities. The respective subcommittees review all projects at regular scheduled
monthly meetings.
Beautification - The placement of flowering baskets on the 47 downtown
lampposts, placement of benches for seating along Main Street through sponsorships
and private donation, maintaining the numerous plants and shrubs in the Town
garden areas.
Spring
Fest - A weekend of Family
Fun, Cultural Activities and Sunday Trolley Rides beginning Saturday May 5th
2001.
Sale-a-bration
- Working with the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce to schedule and manage the
3-day street fair
Fall in Love with Ridgefield - A family weekend in downtown Ridgefield
with Pie Eating Contests, Street Entertainment, Store Promotions etc. This
is screduled for Saturday October 13, 2001
Holiday Trust - Assisting
and managing the annual Halloween Walk and the Holiday Lighting on Main Street.
Holiday Stroll -
Creating a new and exciting event to invoke the holiday spirit in early December.
Late Night Opening
- Providing encouragement to other merchants and businesses to open late one
night per week for the benefit of local shoppers.
